The In's & Out's of Laguna Beach - A Local's Perspective

Crashing waves, international cuisine and unique art pieces displayed throughout the city comprise the quaint beachy art town that is Laguna Beach. Growing up in this small town — that also doubles as a vacation hot spot — has allowed me to continuously experience the charms of where I call home.

Laguna Beach is a welcoming and alluring town that makes you feel like you’re in absolute paradise. Let me be your expert and guide you through all the hidden gems of Laguna that locals often frequent. Laguna Beach is known for its enchanting beaches and temperate climate year-round. Take a deep breath and inhale the fresh ocean air or immerse yourself in our deep blue waters. Treasure Island, Crescent Bay and Victoria Beach conceal the unimaginable beauty that sits below Laguna’s surface and are definitely worth the extra efforts (even if they are a little harder to find). Since these coves are more hidden from the tourist’s eye, it makes them the locals’ favorites. Not in the mood for a swim? Explore Laguna’s diverse flora and fauna under azure blue skies on the Top of the World hike located in Central Laguna and the Dartmoor Trail in North Laguna. The Dartmoor Trail is the perfect spot to view a sunrise or sunset, inspiring a sense of tranquility and bliss. While most of the trail is uphill, the hike itself is short and guaranteed to jump-start your engine by recharging your mind and body with breathtaking views.

Laguna Beach started out as a small art colony that blossomed into being home to a world-renowned art festival called the Pageant of the Masters. Tourists from all over often flock to the city in the summertime to experience the only art show in the world that showcases real people in place of the painted figures to create an illusion to the audience’s eye of seeing what’s in front of them as a two-dimensional work.

With more than 90 restaurants along the Laguna Beach coast, any individual's cravings are easily satisfied. Some of my favorite restaurants are Number Three Restaurant, Mandarin King, Zpizza and La Sirena Grille. Number Three Restaurant, located in North Laguna, is a hidden gem that only the locals know about. Restaurant Three excels in delivering fresh and delicious American-style dishes, top-notch customer service, and affordable prices. Even during this pandemic, these restaurants have shown excellent service while taking the necessary precautions of social distancing and sealing takeout orders for extra protection. Bon Appétit!

Enjoy our beautiful Laguna Beach!
